CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Gabite explores dark caves using ultrasound emitted by the appendages on its head. It hides shiny stones there and fiercely defends its den against those who approach. Its interest in gems even leads it to catch Carbink, while attacking any Sableye that tries to go after them. The Pokédex thus gives its collection an unusual role: a jealously guarded treasure and a source of conflict with other Pokémon.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon says scales shed by Gabite as it grows can be used in traditional remedies. Pokémon Sword credits it with ultrasound for exploring caves. Its molts and senses add two subtle details to the portrait of a stone collector.
