CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Croagunk prepares its attacks with a noise meant to unsettle. The poison sacs in its cheeks produce an alarming sound; when an opponent hesitates, it strikes with its toxic fingers. Yet this Pokémon’s comical appearance and distinctive cry have earned it some popularity. An encounter with it thus brings together two very different impressions: amusement at its silhouette and wariness of its cunning.

A detail worth noticing

Croagunk’s poison also has an unexpected use. The Pokémon Shield entry states that once diluted, it can serve as a remedy. A pharmaceutical company is even said to have chosen this Pokémon as its mascot. This reputation describes no card attack: it comes from the games’ Pokédex.
