Dewgong glides through cold waters with a body adapted to swimming. It travels the sea looking for fish such as Wishiwashi, then rests on ice or a beach after eating. The sun's warmth aids its digestion, even though icy water remains its preferred domain. Long ago, a sailor supposedly mistook its silhouette sleeping on a glacier for a mermaid.
