CARDEX BACKGROUND
Sharpedo propels itself by expelling seawater and can reach impressive speed when it spots prey. Its teeth regrow when broken, renewing a weapon used by this marine predator. Yet this acceleration has a limit: it cannot sustain it over a long distance. The Pokédex also mentions past hunting for its fin. Behind its nickname, the “Bully of the Sea”, this predator therefore has brief power and a difficult history with humans.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Alpha Sapphire states that Sharpedo can exceed 120 km/h but cannot maintain that pace over a long distance. Pokémon Ultra Sun adds that its teeth are used to make accessories believed to protect against accidents at sea. Its reputation mixes real speed with human beliefs.
