CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Magcargo carries a shell formed from its own cooled skin. It looks solid, but breaks easily on contact; the Pokémon can regain its shape by plunging into magma. Flames escape through the cracks while its body remains as hot as lava. In rain, the drops evaporate and thick steam may cover the surroundings. The Pokédex therefore describes a being whose shell is fragile despite the extreme heat it contains.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire attributes a temperature of around 10,000°C to Magcargo. In the same entry, rain turns to steam around it and creates fog. This is a property described in the Pokédex, not a measurement applicable to physical cards.
