CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Stantler's antlers are more than ornaments. Their curved shape disturbs the perception of those who look at them and can make space seem distorted. Their beauty also attracted hunters: the Pokédex recounts that they sold for very high prices as works of art, threatening the species. In Hisui, black orbs shed from these antlers even went into insomnia remedies. The same antlers thus inspired fascination, exploitation, and medicinal uses.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Omega Ruby reports that trade in Stantler antlers nearly drove it to extinction. Pokémon Legends: Arceus mentions an insomnia remedy made from black orbs from shed antlers; Pokémon Y describes their disorienting effect on perception.
