CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Larvitar begins life far from the light, deep underground. To reach the surface and find its parents, it must eat the earth blocking its path. Its first journey is also a prolonged meal. Nutrients drawn from this underground world accompany its growth until a far wider horizon finally becomes accessible.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

This Larvitar's first attack discards the top card of the opponent's deck without stating damage. Larvitar also has a second attack dealing 20 damage. On the same printing, one attack therefore affects the opponent's future draw while the other directly hits the Pokémon in play.
