CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Gulpin's stomach occupies almost its entire body. Its heart and brain seem tiny by comparison, but this anatomy lets it swallow prey as large as itself. Very powerful fluid and enzymes then dissolve it. Digestion is sometimes accompanied by particularly foul-smelling gas. The size of its prey gives no hint of its small organs: its vast stomach dominates the body and processes the swallowed meal.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Omega Ruby states that Gulpin can swallow an object its own size. Alpha Sapphire places its small vital organs beside a dominant stomach. Pokémon Y adds that foul-smelling gases escape while it digests.
