CARDEX BACKGROUND
Groudon is said to have slept in underground magma after an ancient struggle with Kyogre. It is regarded as the embodiment of continents: the heat it releases is said to have driven back water and expanded the land. Other accounts relate that the two rivals fought over nature’s energy. In the Pokédex, its sleep therefore does not erase its power. It marks a pause in a story where land and sea continually answer each other.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Alpha Sapphire describes Groudon’s Primal Reversion as a return to an original appearance through natural energy. Pokémon X attributes the evaporation of water that is said to have expanded the continents to its heat. These are accounts of its power, not geological measurements.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
