The Pokémon’s story

Polteageist occupies an old teapot, but the object housing it is not always authentic. Most vessels described by the Pokédex are counterfeits, while genuine antiques remain rare. It can also slip into unattended black tea and create a new Polteageist. Its life therefore depends on both a container and the liquid abandoned inside it. A forgotten cup can become the beginning of a new presence.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword contrasts rare authentic teapots with the many fakes housing Polteageist. Pokémon Shield describes its spread through abandoned black tea: by pouring itself in, it can turn the drink into a new individual.
