CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Blissey senses the sadness of nearby beings through its fur. When it encounters an unhappy person or a weakened Pokémon, it brings an egg and may stay to care for them. Pokédex accounts attribute a soothing effect on mood to these eggs. Its compassion therefore goes beyond a simple visit: it shares what it produces and sometimes accompanies the sick until they recover.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon describes Blissey’s fur as a sensor of nearby emotions. Pokémon Sword relates that it shares its egg with an injured Pokémon and then nurses it. Its attention to others thus begins before anyone even asks for help.
