The Pokémon’s story

Squirtle’s shell accompanies its every movement. On land, it becomes a refuge into which it can withdraw its limbs when danger approaches. In water, by contrast, its rounded shape and grooves ease movement. What first looks like armour also tells of a swimmer’s life: its protection contributes to its freedom of movement.

A detail worth noticing

Squirtle bw7-29 protects itself from attack damage while on the Bench through its Shell Shield Ability. When attacking, its hit deals 10 damage and adds 20 on heads. Kanako Eo illustrated this card: Bench protection and the random bonus do not apply at the same time.
