CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Espurr seems to watch the world without changing its expression. Yet that fixed face hides a constant effort to contain devastating psychic power. Its ears cover the organ that produces it, limiting energy leaks. Stillness then becomes a sign of an inner struggle: this little Pokémon does not lack strength; it mainly struggles to stop that strength from exceeding its intentions.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Espurr's power far exceeds its small size. Pokémon Y describes psychic energy capable of sending objects flying within a radius of roughly a hundred meters, though Espurr struggles to control it. Its closed ears take on another meaning: they help restrain a force that could escape.
