CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Zamazenta is associated with Galar’s ancient salvation. The Pokédex relates that it joined forces with the king of humankind to protect the region. When it enters battle, it absorbs metal. Its story also includes a long disappearance: turned into a statue, it remained petrified for so long that it was almost forgotten. The legend therefore combines an act of defence with the fragile memory of a hero that time had rendered motionless.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield states that Zamazenta spent so long in statue form that it nearly vanished from memory. Pokémon Sword, by contrast, recounts the act that made it famous: saving Galar alongside the king of humankind.
