CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Zangoose reacts immediately to Seviper's presence: its fur bristles and it shows its claws. Their rivalry spans generations. It usually moves on all fours, but anger makes it stand on its hind legs before striking. It nimbly dodges its opponent's attacks while carrying traces of this long struggle on its body. The Pokédex describes a hostility that has become almost inseparable from its behavior.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Y describes Zangoose's fur bristling as soon as it senses Seviper. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire notes that it stands upright when angry. The reaction therefore begins before the first attack and can be read throughout its posture.
