The story behind this Trainer card

Black Belt's Training strengthens your Pokémon's attacks during the turn it is played, but only against your opponent's Active Pokémon ex. The increase is forty damage, calculated before Weakness and Resistance. This detail defines the card's scope: it targets a specific category and a single moment rather than all future attacks. The player must therefore choose the turn when this boost can actually reach the Pokémon ex in front of them.

A detail worth noticing

The text gives forty additional damage to your Pokémon's attacks without restricting the bonus to a named fighter. It does, however, specify the target: your opponent's Active Pokémon ex. An attack against another category of Pokémon does not receive the bonus described here.
