The Pokémon’s story

Kyogre is said to sleep at the bottom of an ocean trench after its ancient battles with Groudon. Legends describe it as the embodiment of oceans: its rains and tidal waves are said to have expanded the seas. Their rivalry reportedly concerned nature’s energy, capable of awakening forgotten power. The Pokédex does not present these changes to the world as historical measurements; it passes on the story of a Pokémon whose return brings fear of a sea in motion.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X connects the expansion of the seas with Kyogre’s rivalry with Groudon. Pokémon Omega Ruby describes its Primal Reversion as a return to an original appearance through nature’s energy. This form belongs to the species’ legend, not to all of its cards.
