CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Rhyperior wears sturdy Protectors that cushion attacks and give it time to counter with its drill. It places stones or small Rock-type Pokémon in the hollows of its hands and uses its muscles to launch them like shells. It can keep several projectiles in each arm. The Pokédex describes a fighter that turns its body into armor, a drill and a launcher, using what it finds around it to strike at a distance.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon Sword says Rhyperior can load up to three rocks or Roggenrola into each arm before firing. Pokémon Shield explains that its Protectors create an opening for its drill. Its ranged attack and close-range strike therefore rest on the same preparation.
