CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Electrode feeds on electricity around it. It sometimes gathers with others near power plants to take advantage of newly generated power. On stormy days, this appetite can leave it so charged that it explodes repeatedly. Its round body then conceals a very fragile balance: sometimes a jolt is enough to release the accumulated energy violently. Its presence near an electrical source therefore deserves more attention than its resemblance to a Poké Ball might suggest.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

When its body is swollen with electricity almost to bursting point, Electrode can let the wind carry it away. Pokémon Black thus adds a surprising consequence of its charge: it even changes how it moves. The explosive Pokémon temporarily becomes something carried through the air.

Pokemon Power

At any time during your turn (before your attack) you may Knock Out Electrode and attach it to 1 of your other Pokémon. If you do, chose a type of Energy. Electrode is now an Energy card (instead of a Pokémon) that provides 2 energy of that type. This power can't be used if Electrode is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
