CARDEX BACKGROUND
Doduo barely flies with its small wings, but its powerful legs let it run very fast. Its two heads share vigilance: one can sleep while the other keeps watch. Their brains also seem to exchange emotions. This coordination helps it stay alert even while resting. Yet the Pokédex reports rare individuals whose two brains are not identical. Life with two heads therefore demands constant cooperation beyond its running speed.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Omega Ruby describes Doduo's heads taking turns sleeping. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire reports a study of their usually identical brains, with a few exceptions. Sharing watch duty therefore does not mean the two halves are always perfectly alike.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
