CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Cherrim waits for sunlight as an almost motionless bud. When the rays become strong enough, its petals open and its behavior changes: it becomes lively and cheerful, then closes again if sunshine decreases. Even folded, its petals are tough enough to withstand pecks from bird Pokémon. Its fragrance can attract other species. The Pokédex thus makes light the rhythm of its day, from quiet waiting to active flowering.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield emphasizes the toughness of Cherrim's closed bud: pecks barely bother it. Pokémon Legends: Arceus describes several Pokémon gathering around its fragrance, while Pokémon Sword highlights its almost motionless patience before the sun appears.
