CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Pincurchin feeds on seaweed attached to rocks. It tears it off with sharp teeth while electric current flows at the tips of its spines. Each spine can retain a charge even after detaching from its body. The Pokédex says a lost spine then continues emitting electricity for three hours. This little Pokémon therefore combines a precise feeding method and a persistent defense on the same rocks.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

A detached Pincurchin spine can still produce current for three hours, Pokémon Shield notes. Pokémon Sword says its teeth scrape seaweed from rocks; the electricity, meanwhile, emerges from the tips of its spines.
