CARDEX BACKGROUND

About the species

Trevenant extends the roots of its feet to connect with trees and control them throughout the forest. Pokémon living in its bark find it a kindly neighbour. Woodcutters, however, fear it: several accounts say it punishes those who damage the woods. Its power is therefore inseparable from its territory. The Pokédex presents it as a guardian able to protect forest inhabitants while threatening those who ravage their home.

This account describes the species in the video games. It does not describe its Trainer’s history or that of this copy, and does not identify the depicted form or sex.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun relates that some woodcutters enter the woods only with a Fire-type Pokémon, for fear of Trevenant. Pokémon Shield describes the network of fine roots that lets it connect with neighbouring trees. Human fear therefore responds to a specific power.
