CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

One tradition says Varoom was born when an unknown Poison-type Pokémon entered an abandoned engine at a recycling plant. Its steel section forms its actual body. It clings to rocks and converts their minerals into energy to operate. The Pokédex thus distinguishes an origin reported as rumor from a way of feeding described more directly. Even far from the factory mentioned in the story, Varoom depends on materials found in stone.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Varoom's birth inside a used engine is presented as a rumor in Pokémon Scarlet. Pokémon Violet supplies a more concrete detail: the steel part is its body, and it draws energy from minerals in the rocks it attaches itself to.
