Mawile

CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Mawile first draws attention with its docile face. That first impression can distract from the enormous jaw behind its head, which it uses when an opponent lets down its guard. Its apparent gentleness is part of its strategy. With this Pokémon, understanding the entire silhouette completely changes the encounter: what seemed welcoming is preparing an attack just when the other feels safe.

A detail worth noticing

Tempting Trap prevents the target from retreating during the opponent's next turn. On the player's following turn, the Defending Pokémon takes 90 additional attack damage after Weakness and Resistance. Bite itself deals 90 damage. This Mawile printing links temporary restraint with a window for a stronger strike.
