CARDEX BACKGROUND
From birth, Manaphy has a power that lets it form a bond with all kinds of Pokémon. This ability gives its encounters a special place, even far from where it originated. An entry from Hisui reports that it supposedly crosses oceans and only rarely visits the region's coasts. It also emphasizes its resemblance to Phione while leaving their relationship uncertain. Its journey and this open question contribute to the mystery surrounding it.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later. The Pokémon Omega Ruby entry describes Manaphy's power as present from birth. Pokémon Legends: Arceus reports its supposed rare visits to Hisui's coasts but does not settle the relationship between Manaphy and Phione despite their resemblance.
