CARDEX BACKGROUND
Swirlix eats so many sweets that its fur takes on the scent and texture of cotton candy. It also produces white, sweet, sticky threads to immobilize an opponent. Without its daily sugar ration, its mood becomes difficult. The Pokédex makes this appetite more than a simple preference: it shapes its appearance and even contributes to its defenses.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Sword states that Swirlix eats its own weight in sugar every day. Pokémon X describes the sticky threads it uses to restrain an enemy. Its excessive diet and its fighting technique therefore share the same sweet signature.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
