CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Araquanid makes bubbles with its legs to enclose prey before eating. If not hungry, it may also keep a meal in a bubble for later. Yet it gently uses this same shelter to protect small, fragile Dewpider and leave them leftovers. The Pokédex says it likes storing precious things there, sometimes even trying to place its own Trainer inside.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield describes Araquanid protecting young Dewpider in its bubble and sharing meal leftovers with them. Pokémon Sword shows bubbles used as prey traps. Their purpose therefore depends on whom it encloses inside.
