CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Buizel enters the water with its two tails spinning like a propeller. This movement propels it and helps cut through seaweed in its path. Around its neck, a natural flotation sac lets it keep its head above water to watch its surroundings; it collapses when Buizel dives. The Pokédex describes a swimmer whose every body part meets a particular need, from momentum below the surface to vigilance above it.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X notes that Buizel's flotation sac collapses when it dives. Pokémon Y explains that it supports its head while it surveys its surroundings. This change of shape therefore directly follows its position in the water.
