CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Energy overflowing from Boldore's body forms orange crystals. Their glow can warn of an imminent discharge: it is best to move away when they begin shining. To track its surroundings, Boldore relies on sound rather than sight. Even when angry, it may attack without changing the direction it faces. Its rocky appearance thus conceals a powerful energy reserve, but its orientation remains an important part of how it fights.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun describes Boldore's orange crystals as hard enough to break diamond. Pokémon Sword notes their glow just before an energy release. Pokémon Shield describes an attack launched without Boldore turning around.
