CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Risky Ruins places two damage counters on a non-Darkness Basic Pokémon when a player puts it onto their Bench during their turn. The Stadium links injury to entering play and a type exclusion. The rule concerns both sides rather than reserving counters only for your opponent's Pokémon.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

The text does not require arrival from the hand here: it describes being put onto the Bench during the player's turn. Basic Darkness Pokémon are explicitly excluded from this placement of counters.
