The Pokémon’s story

In Sinnoh’s mythology, Arceus is said to have appeared as an Egg when nothing else existed. Accounts then credit it with creating the world and place it before the formation of the universe itself. The Pokédex reports these versions as traditions without presenting their chronology as an observed fact. This place at the origin of all things explains why Arceus holds a unique role in the region’s stories.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X explicitly names Sinnoh’s mythology as the source of the account of Arceus’s Egg. Pokémon Y places it, still within mythology, before the universe. These entries describe a foundational belief rather than a scientific observation of its birth.
