CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Alomomola drifts with currents in great oceans. On meeting an injured Pokémon, it takes it in and helps wounds close with the special mucus covering its body. Sailors know this talent well enough to bring it on long voyages. Yet the Pokédex leaves a question open: is the help purely altruistic? Another entry suggests it may protect victims sharing its own predators.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Ultra Sun reports sailors taking Alomomola aboard for its care during long crossings. Pokémon Sun questions why it helps the injured; Ultra Moon proposes, without confirming, that it keeps them safe from shared predators.
