CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Krokorok can see in darkness thanks to the membrane protecting its eyes. It readily hunts at night and sometimes stores part of its catch beneath the sand for less favorable days. Yet desert temperatures limit its outings: when it gets too cold, it buries itself deeply and remains still. The Pokédex thus shows a hunter well equipped for darkness but dependent on warmth to make use of that ability.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield highlights a paradox in Krokorok: its eyes see very well at night, but nighttime cold can keep it from emerging. Pokémon Ultra Moon says it buries food reserves. Its caution therefore compensates for interruptions to hunting caused by the climate.
