CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Fletchling’s song may seem welcoming, but it also marks a boundary. Its calls and tail movements send signals, while an intruder in its territory meets an unsparing defence. The small bird therefore takes on a different meaning according to the situation: a pleasant melody to a listener may be a very serious warning to someone approaching.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Fletchling can become scorching when startled. The Ultra Sun Pokédex explains that this affectionate Pokémon raises its temperature very quickly after unexpected contact, risking a burn to whoever touches it. Its welcoming appearance therefore does not remove the need for care when approaching.
