CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Grapploct leaves the sea when it wants to test its strength against an opponent. Its almost entirely muscular body gives considerable power to the holds it performs with its tentacles. Once the battle ends, it returns to the water. The Pokédex thus describes a round trip linked to physical challenge rather than settling on land. It chooses ground where it can find a rival, uses its arms to confront them, then resumes marine life.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Grapploct's holds draw power from its highly muscular body, according to Pokémon Sword. Pokémon Shield notes that it comes onto land to seek an opponent and test its arms' strength, then returns to sea after the confrontation.
