CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Torchic follows its Trainer with still-hesitant steps. Its down and body warmth give this small companion a comforting presence. Yet the fire it keeps inside can also burst out in scorching balls. Its whole character lies in this closeness between apparent fragility and power: the Pokémon seeking to stay beside someone already has the means to defend itself.

A detail worth noticing

Torchic tk-ex-latia-7 by Hironobu Yoshida starts at 20 damage with its attack and gains 20 on heads. On xy5-25, sui illustrates a 20-damage hit that may discard Fire Energy on tails. Here the flip changes damage; the other printing places the risk on attached Energy.
