CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Tapu Bulu is Ula'ula's guardian and draws strength from plants. It can make vegetation lush, uproot a large tree to brandish or immobilize an enemy with stems before striking with its horns. Despite its protective reputation, it can be merciless. It nevertheless prefers to avoid needless fighting by ringing its tail to announce its presence. The Pokédex describes plant power that warns before punishing.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon explains that Tapu Bulu rings its tail to signal its arrival and avoid a confrontation. Yet Pokémon Moon describes its horns used against an immobilized enemy. Its warning comes from a guardian capable of a very harsh response.
