CARDEX BACKGROUND
Druddigon slips into other Pokémon's narrow tunnels and sometimes turns their burrows into its den. It waits for prey to pass, then traps it in the tunnel before striking with its claws and rocky face. Despite its underground life, it must come out into the sun: cold eventually prevents it from moving. The Pokédex thus describes an ambush hunter whose time underground depends on warmth it cannot always find in caves.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Sword notes that Druddigon becomes unable to move if its body cools for too long underground. Pokémon Ultra Moon shows it using Diglett and Dugtrio tunnels. It therefore benefits from shelters dug by others but cannot remain there indefinitely.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
The red skin on its face is harder than rock. In narrow caves, it squares off against its enemies and charges face-first right into them.Cost: Colorless · Colorless
