CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Nidoran♀ prefers avoiding confrontations. Its small poisonous horn and back spines mainly repel attacks. To find Berries, it faces into the wind and uses its sense of smell and whiskers. Its incisors then open the food. The Pokédex therefore contrasts its peaceful nature with a powerful chemical defense: being able to injure does not mean it seeks to do so.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword credits Nidoran♀ with a more developed sense of smell than the male's and describes its search for food facing the wind. Pokémon Shield notes that its horn has a rounder tip. Its senses and silhouette thus differ from its counterpart's.
