CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Avalugg advances like a mass of ice whose hardness rivals steel. In cold regions, it swims among icebergs with several Bergmite attached to its back. This small troop can make it look like an ice-covered ship. During the day, cracks open in its body as it moves; night restores its intact appearance. Its journey therefore constantly changes its shell, but the cold repairs it before the next day.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Alpha Sapphire compares Avalugg carrying Bergmite with an aircraft carrier made of ice. Pokémon Shield specifies that cracks opening in its body during the day disappear overnight. Pokémon Sword's entry places it among icebergs.
