Nidoran♂

CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Nidoran♂ moves carefully through grass, its long ears raised above the stems. It turns them to hear the faintest sounds before exposing itself. If a threat approaches, its forehead horn and poisonous spines take over. Yet this small Pokémon can be daring: the Pokédex recounts that it is willing to risk its life to protect its mate. Its vigilance therefore does not prevent it from standing up to something larger.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby attributes the mobility of Nidoran♂'s ears to developed muscles that can turn them at will. Pokémon Shield adds that, despite its size, it may defend its mate at the risk of its life. Its usual caution thus has a very specific limit.
