CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Furfrou has fur that keeps growing if no one trims it. A careful cut lets it move more freely, but it refuses to entrust its coat to someone it does not trust. In Kalos, it is said to have once guarded kings and queens. Later, nobles organized grooming contests for the species. The Pokédex thus connects the practical use of grooming, loyalty and the human appreciation of its appearance.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X notes that trimming Furfrou's fur makes movement easier. Pokémon Ultra Moon adds that it will not let an unfamiliar person do so. Behind the trims seen on different cards therefore lies a relationship of trust with its caregiver.
