CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Weezing is said to arise rarely from two Koffing joining together. Its two bodies alternately inflate and deflate to mix the gases they contain; this blending makes their poison stronger. At night, it seeks waste and rotten food from which to absorb fumes. The Pokédex even mentions very rare individuals with three bodies. This life among rubbish feeds its growth and shapes its internal chemical balance.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black mentions Weezing with three bodies while emphasising their rarity. Pokémon X describes the alternating movement of the usual two bodies as they mix gases. This functioning gives meaning to the ordinary species’ asymmetrical silhouette.
