CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Floatzel often hunts near fishing ports and pursues prey through the water with the help of a well-developed flotation sac. This same sac serves as a float when it helps someone who has fallen into the sea. The Pokédex says it can rescue swimmers in difficulty while remaining an effective aquatic predator. Its natural equipment therefore serves hunting and rescue alike.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X presents Floatzel as a rescuer of people on the verge of drowning. Pokémon Y compares its flotation sac to an inflatable boat and connects it with pursuing prey. The same organ thus serves humans and its own survival.
