The Pokémon’s story

Munkidori's chain contains toxins capable of enhancing its abilities. By stimulating its brain, it brought out its psychic powers. It does not necessarily rush toward an opponent: it prefers staying safe, then using telekinesis to cause intense dizziness. The Pokédex therefore describes strength based more on control at a distance than bodily bulk. The chain changed its capabilities and lets it exploit the other's confusion.

Pokémon Scarlet says toxins in Munkidori's chain stimulated its brain and revealed its powers. Pokémon Violet details its tactic: it remains in a safe place while its psychokinesis causes severe dizziness in the enemy.
