CARDEX BACKGROUND
The role of this Energy
This Energy provides Water and protects a Water holder from opposing attack effects without removing those already present. Damage is explicitly excluded from prevention. The effect strengthens resistance to new attack consequences without making the Pokémon invulnerable or healing injuries it has already accumulated.
Background on this Special Energy’s effect; the printed text, edition and finish of each card remain distinct.A detail worth noticing
A Pokémon of another type does not receive protection merely because it carries the supplied Water Energy. The text reserves the benefit for a Water holder and keeps attack damage outside the prevented effects.
