CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Swellow traces wide circles in the sky to spot prey. As soon as it sees one, it dives and grips it firmly with its talons. Straight feathers in its two tail tips indicate good health, and it carefully maintains its glossy wings. When two Swellow meet, they may even clean each other's plumage. The Pokédex thus joins hunting effectiveness with care for the feathers making that flight possible.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X uses the posture of Swellow's two tail feathers as a health indicator. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire tells of mutual wing cleaning between two individuals. Their plumage therefore reveals physical condition and also receives shared care.
