CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Absol has long suffered from confusion between announcing a disaster and causing it. Because its appearance sometimes precedes catastrophe, humans have held it responsible. Yet the Pokédex mainly describes its ability to perceive signs of danger. The mountain-dwelling loner thus bears a reputation that turns its talent for anticipation into a reason for fear among those who encounter it.

A detail worth noticing

When played from the hand onto the Bench, this Absol can move three damage counters from one opposing Pokémon to another through Cursed Eyes. Its attack, Mach Claw, ignores Resistance. The card does not create the transferred damage: it redistributes existing counters, an essential detail for understanding its threat.
