CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Sceptile travels through the jungle from branch to branch before leaping onto prey. The leaves on its arms are sharp enough to cut into large trunks. Yet its relationship with trees goes beyond hunting: the seeds on its back are reputed to be rich in nutrients, and it cares for the forest where it lives. The Pokédex thus brings formidable agility and constant attention to its habitat together in one Pokémon.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire credits the seeds on Sceptile's back with nutrients said to revitalize trees. Pokémon Omega Ruby instead describes the accuracy of its attacking leaps. Its body carries both a hunting weapon and a resource connected to the forest.
